I practically started my crazy career life with 12 equally crazy, fun people. We call ourselves RAFers 2004.
Almost six years had passed, and each of us are tredding on different waves of time. One by one, we left the doors of SGV (except for the three last standing guys as of the moment!) and continue our quest for a better us. It is in this situation that gathering all 13 just like our PSE lunch days seem to be impossible as of now. The schedules are not on the same pages and the locations are geographically insane - sad. Very sad.
But life is not that bitter as it may seem. And if time permits, we do see to it that we gather, make fun of ourselves, and dream about the future. One of the most special and rarest events that we gather is when one of our "balikbayan" friends would come home and spend a short vacation here. The most recent who flew back to the Philippines was our dearest ilong, Molds!
Last night almost half of the batch spent a night in Marriott hotel to serve as our send off party to Molds. It was unplanned, spontaneous, and very fun night with each other! It was fitting to know that amidst all the success that we are enjoying now, we are still the same crazy little creatures who would do nothing but make fun of each other. Ah, it was like a backtrack to 2004! You know that feeling when you have everyone to hear your stories, hardships, and frustrations? When you have all ears listening to your funny and awkward experiences and all mouths are so damned ready laugh them out?
Molds might be this high guy who managed to make it big in the US, but he is still the same old Boy Pending who struggles his English in the land of milk and honey! And he is still the same kuripot guy who would just let the hungry Con munch on the cake I bought instead of ordering at the hotel! haha!
Ermz and I may be regarded as one of the "Maams" in our respective offices but we still struggle for that "Where is your car?" question at the workplace. And yes, we are still drooling over that LV and Hermes bags.
Con can be regarded as one of the bests and the longest staying RAFer but he still find a bit of frustrations of still not having an out of the country engagements.
Nels might be happily spending her career life in Chevron but she knows she does not like Accounting.
We are these normal people in our own eyes. No pretensions. No competitions. Just plain pure friendship. How sweet!
