When Kargador meets Miss Perya

we both have an IT background. he is a programmer, i am an IT auditor slash SAP consultant in the making.

we're la sallians. he's from dash main but went ober da bakod after a while. i am from dash Bacolod.

our names are kind of weird. his surname. my first name.

our dads are both inclined to that so-called soldiers of the society. his was a cpa who pursued career in PNP. mine was a frustrated military man who became a brilliant mechanical engineer.
oh, if i may so, both were classic examples of "from rags to riches" thing.

our past relationships were uhm, unusual. nah, don't ask why.

and the list goes on and on...

Levy and Dahlgren. Two crazy creatures who first met at Elsa Bldg which was patiently arranged by our common friend Crissy. It was a quick meet up, with him in his Barong Tagalog (he just came from a wedding) and me in my so ordinary tee and capri pants. my ten-feeth below the ground voice made a mark on him, his fats registered on my mind. No, there was no "hi, nice to finally meet you" in each other's inbox.

Taken from his own account, he was constantly asking Cris to invite me in every escapades that they have. i, too, remember it so well everytime this crazier friend/dormmate of mine would convince me to come with them. i always turn down the invitation - maybe the fats says it all (just kidding). Oh yeah, i remember why, but it would be better if i spare it to writing. Censored. =)

UAAP season in 2007. everyone in the 10th floor of petron building were into the game of green versus blue. the greens were ecstatic as the team had added another victory in their statistics. i was part of those "happy" people. it was a back-to-work mode when i received a text message from Cris inviting me to accompany her to Ziggurat later that night. I did not know why my usual "nyek. tamad ako." alibi seems to be on temporary leave. rather, i said yes to her. One worry struck me, just me and her? hmmm, it's a bit awkward as i am not used to going out having a duo with a friend in the table. Okay, Lui and Levy could be the answer as these two were her closest friends that time (basing from her usual night stories at D-4). I asked Cris to invite the two as well.

through the night, i only got two lines for Levy: 1.) one was telling him i am at the client's office when he asked me why i was in petron building. 2.) the other was asking him where he lives. that was it.

up in our room, i expected Cris to pester me with questions concerning him. but, surprisingly, she did not. i also expected my phone's inbox to have an unregistered number. none. hmmmm, my charms did not work on that fat guy! his loss. oh, am i sweet lemoning?

it was in July 27, 2007, at about lunchtime, when my phone signaled that a new message is in. +639165799106. hmmm, i am 90% sure it was someone from last night. haha. and i was damned right!

i owe WWE a lifetime, the great american bash specifically, for stirring up my interest. this was my preference when Levy first asked me if i want to watch a movie. I said i want to watch TGAB instead. It stirred up his interest in me as well. he might be wondering what other weirdness i do have. haha

the rest was history. a sweet love story!

Levy did not only become my boyfriend, he became my best friend when rolla, hope, and/or ja were pursuing their own careers away from me. he is my family when the Alonsos are 45-min plane ride away from me. he is my officemate when the office seems like hell and i need a space to breath. he is my travel partner. my co-world history/mysteries enthusiast. he is my shopping buddy when all the girls simply can't just come with me. my diet/pig out partner when i feel like choosing either of the two. he is my fellow critic whose victims are our own selves - he makes fun of my big eyes and untamed patilya, i make fun of his magnanimous nose and his airport-like forehead!

ours is not a perfect relationship. I'd rather call it a meaningful bonding. we constantly learn from each other. we laugh how one mispronounce a word (i.e. clothes pronounced as cloths, sumptuous pronounced as sumptous). we are into an educated debate from time to time like if there is such thing as american food. we share our realizations and observations.

we do not force each other to change to the ideal person that we want for a partner. instead, we respect each other's preference and willingly adapt if we find it interesting. i learned to like cheese and pizza. he now likes to go shopping, to my greatest advantage i may say!

I am his greatest brat. i get what i want, but when i go beyond the borderline, he is firm not to give in to my childish acts. okay yes, he tames me.

my family is his family, his family is mine as well. my friends are his. his friends are mine, too!

I am not closing this piece because i know there are still a lot of things to come for the mag-buubi!

I LOVE YOU BUUBI!
